On a couple of occasions, I entered interview rooms to find a detainee chained hand and foot in a fetal position to the floor, with no chair, food, or water. Most times they urinated or defecated on themselves, and had been left there for 18-24 hours or more.

One can have issues about specific policies at Guantanamo and elsewhere, but surely even Andrew Sullivan can recognize that comparing the US to the Nazis, Soviets and Khmer Rouge is simply inaccurate and inflamatory. I guess not. Emotion seems to take over Mr. Sullivan at the expense of reason and fairness.

Andrew Sullivan is missing the point, entirely. Whether or not this FBI "agent" is legit or not; Durbin's commentary was reprehensible in comparing Gitmo to Gulags... Egads, even the most bizarre stories about goings on at Gitmo.. can't even begin to compare with Stalin's gulags.
