(CNSNews.com) - Conservatives angered by the frequent calls of congressional Democrats and anti-war activists to close down the military prison at Guantanamo Bay in Cuba, are conducting an unusual counter-attack.

Inspired by California Republican Congressman Duncan Hunter, bloggers from Dummocrats.com have created "The Gitmo Cookbook" to emphasize the high quality of life for prisoners at the Guantanamo Bay facility.

Speaking on Fox News Sunday June 11, Hunter said the criticism of how the U.S. is handling terrorist suspects prompted him to send "for the menu from Guantanamo, so that the average American could understand how we're brutalizing people" at the prison.

"For Sunday, they're going to be having -- let me see -- orange glazed chicken, fresh fruit grupe, steamed peas and mushrooms, rice pilaf -- another form of torture for the hijackers," Hunter said.

That'swhatI'mtalkinbout! You gotta make fun of these people. To get your panties all in a wad over what they say only serves to encourage them.

Kudos to Duncan Hunter.

Limbaugh is supposed to have T-shirts for "Club Gitmo". He's got side-by-side weather forcasts of Gitmo vs. Bagdad.

he's expanded beyond shirts. LOL

You know, we can't be hypocrites. If this food is good enough for people we condemn to prison, it's good enough for us! Only right we 'suffer' with our 'victims'.

If you're tired of all the torture allegations, of hearing the media imply that handling a Quran without gloves on is the moral equivalent of beheading someone, and of all the hysteria about enemy combatants, you'll enjoy the Gitmo Cookbook.

It contains the actual recipes and menus for the food served to the Gitmo detainees, along with interesting facts about how American soldiers are working every day to treat prisoners humanely while still getting the information we need to protect ourselves.

Baked Tandouri Chicken Breast, Mustard-Dill Baked Fish, Lyonnaise Rice, and Fish Amandine are just a few of the recipes you'll find in the Gitmo Cookbook. We've tested them, and they are inexpensive, easy to make, and delicious.

The cookbook is being printed and will be shipped in about 10 weeks. Pre-order your copy now for only $8.95!

You know that is a pretty good idea.

I wonder if it wouldn't be a good idea for at least a little while to have someone in the House and another in the Senate get up and read that days menu from Guantanamo into the record....

Yes, they say something like 'Get your free Koran' -- and are jihadist-beheader-orange.

I think the daily menu for Gitmo should be published just like they do for school lunchs and Gitmo cooks should be invited to cook some of the same recipes at the White House for a special Congressional dinner. I'd also invite food critics from the major newspapers to a taste test.

When I read the rules for guards handling the Koran with gloves I nearly puked particularly when the US taxpayers are buying them. The ACLU would have a cow if the military bought Bibles for prisoners in the brig.
