He is NOT uninformed, he is being political, which is worse, IMO.
It is worse if he is being political. If our troops are taken prisoner WE EXPECT THEM NOT TO BE TRIED. If we start trying military prisoners who did not commit war crimes, we are asking for much future trouble. One would think an ex-POW would understand that value and place it above short term political discussion.
