From what I can tell, these three are being allowed to talk in the presence of Aruban authorities. And they are arguing about the details of their stories. Maybe it's just me, but I see wisdom in that. These young people could go to jail for years and all are probably not equally culpable. So it would be natural that the less culpable would have a very interested stake in the truth of the more culpable's story. And the MC would not want the LC to tell the truth. So allowing them to go at it, while being observed by authorities who can then add this to the other info they are getting from questioned them, could add considerably to their store of knowledge of the events of that night.

Yes, Mrs. VDS is able to see her son, but an Aruban authority stays by her side and listens to everything. If she brings up anything about the case at all, the interview is over and she is escorted out.

You're right, twigs, and I wrote that before hearing on Greta that mamma sloot's visits with Joran were being monitored.

This is pure speculation on my part and I should probably put it in Private Mail to you, but my take is that Mamma Sloot is the dominant parent & spouse. While out of the country, her pathetic head-in-the-sand husband can't even keep his no good son at home the second night of Natalees disappearance!!!

Personally, I think daddy sloot knows his son is neck deep in Natalee's disappearance. He's the nerdy type who has lost complete control of his kid and has thrown his hands in the air. Now, he's just hoping to keep him out of prison for the rest of his life.

Enter momma sloot: The woman gives an Academy Award performance on what a sweet, responsible and great boy Joran is and tells the world that he is also a victim with tears streaming down her face. Too bad her words do not only pass the smell test, they don't even match up with his actions.
