did you see her on Greta going about the town????

this is Public Relations 101......

she may be a very strong Christian and her personna is to be positive, but she needs the Arubans to know she is angry, traumatized, horrified at the most likely loss of her only dtr...

she needs to project a sad figure on a mission to find her dtr....

she needs to keep garnering sympathy....

I saw her, and like I said before she exhibits gracious tenacity, IMO.

Perhaps she's following her Christian teachings. *gasp*

IMHO, she needs to not give a rat's hiney what the Aruban's think of her. She needs to be herself. Who cares what they think? Or what we think, for that matter. This woman is on a mission to bring her daughter home and will not stop until it's done. The quickest way the Arubans can get rid of her is to help her find her daughter so she can leave and get out of their hair.

Besides all that, if she doesn't do this, she'll fall apart. This is her coping mechanism. The woman literally has no choice if she wants to keep herself together long enough to help find Natalee.

When I saw the piece I was a little taken aback as well - I think I'd be a basket case... don't know if I could even put one foot in front of the other.. OR I'd be a raving lunatic... screaming at everyone in sight...

BUT - everyone reacts differently to things.. I suspect part of her southern upbringing kicks in as well .. I honestly could see some women I know reacting that way.. cheerful that is.

I see what you're saying though - at this point enough is enough - but just like not showing for the meeting - maybe she's been advised it wouldn't be wise to show anger.. so this is her way of coping...

I hope that I'm NEVER in any type of situation like Mrs. Twitty is now in. But if I am, she will be my role model. What an amazing woman. She's tough, firm, but gracious under fire. My husband has been as impressed as I have. I truly think that if it had not been for her persistence, two men, probably innocent, would have been charged with Natalee's disappearance. Men of color, maybe chosen for that reason in that colonial Dutch paradise. She is helping insure that real investigation and real justice will take place there. The Arubans don't like her because her persistence is helping reveal their own deeply rooted darkness.
