Have you ever wondered why Natalees smile looks exactly the same in every picture that has been taken of her, and there have been hundreds, apparently? An nice smile, but with a hint of sadness. But every one identical to the last. I've wondered about that smile a lot from the first.
Occams razor is she was raped/killed during drugs/rough sex on the beach and disposed of. But that's difficult to do without a trace. What's your take?
In one way it's refreshing to see the authorities not grandstanding and holding hourly press conferences and becoming media stars. But on the other hand it seems to be impeding the investigation. The trick in the US is to give out what is useful to equip the public to look out for clues, and withhold that which only the killer would know.
Now that does not mean that one of the three fellows who were with Natalee didn't have some "debt" to pay and might have tried to pass her off to someone and that situation went "bad."
But along the lines of some other thoughts on here it seems to me that the answers really lie with Joran and his father and the two brothers. And, as I have been surmising, Joran's step-brother, Lorenzo, who papa VDS fathered years ago while in a previous relationship. I just feel he is somehow involved. I posted my thoughts about Lorenzo earlier (post #89), and even though he has dropped off the "radar" I think there is something there and he is being watched.
In the words of Al Pacinon in And Justice For All, "Something's REALLY wrong here."
You know the letter "V" kept running through my head. I even googled it. Since I didn't find what I thought I would, I then thought it was the movie "Alien." But you are right. It was that show. I did not watch it a lot, but my kids did. Yep. That's the analogy - "V" and Aruba! Thanks!
John838, I hadn't wondered about her "smile," but here is a refresher from early in the disappearance:
"Holloway was in the National Honor Society, studied Spanish and was a member of American Field Service, which works with foreign exchange students. Her participation may have been a reflection of her travels, which Twitty said included trips to Europe, Canada and some cruises.
"She was a member of the student government and sweated through long hours of practice as a member of the school dance team. But Holloway wasn't just about glitz: she also joined Natural Helpers, a peer support group, and other volunteer organizations.
"For all her activities and achievements, relatives described Holloway as having an almost childlike side, too.
"Natalee's naive. She hasn't dated a lot. She doesn't party a lot," said uncle Paul Reynolds. Holloway attends church regularly and wouldn't ever run away, he said.
"In the Mountain Brook yearbook, Holloway's senior quote came from the old Lynyrd Skynyrd song "Freebird." It says: "If I leave here tomorrow, would you still remember me? For I must be traveling on now, there's too many places I haven't seen."
She does sound very intrigued with travel and adventure -- as many young people do.
Fewe know the power of Free Republic. Sure we toss rumors out but if they're untrue they get blasted into a million pieces.
Following your logic of "upset", it's interesting to note that Joran wasn't "upset" with Natalee's disappearance. He never expressed his regret or concern that the girl was missing to her parents. A decent, innocent person would have expressed shock or grief that the girl he was last seen was missing. Instead, he was on the defensive.
IOW's "it's not what they say...it's what they don't say" is an easy way to judge people.
sw
She sounds very caring and soft hearted. I love girls like that. May God Damn any one that took advantage of that but He knows it happens all the time. That may be the way they got to her.
Excellent point.
The most extensive description of the first 24 hours of the investigation is at www.riehlworldview.com , the "Details Of The Initial Investigation Into The Disappearance Of Natalee Holloway," over half-way down that page.
Evidently, (1) there was no delay in notifying authorities, and, (2) given the Mountain Brook community, the corporate jet is not very remarkable. Maybe next, some posters will be blaming the Martians - they're about the only ones left who haven't been called to task.
Yeah doc, you keep posting that. However they do not use polygraph test in A Rub A.
I only have one question, "What did Bush know, and when did he know it?"
That might make sense if she had disappeared here in the US.
Doesn't matter where she disappeared. There are still questions...such as: 'Were there circumstances in the home from which Natalee wanted to escape?'; Did any of the parents/ step-parents have a reason to want Natalee 'disappeared'?...
I believe her natural father is an insurance agent for a major company...
Thanks for that info.
My take is that we were supposed to think the crime took place on the beach. It was a wild goose chase. Occams razor is that the perp committed the crime at his private apt. It's the simplest answer.
But even if it did take place elsewhere, why is it so difficult to understand that tossing a body into the deep ocean in Aruba is so difficult? That would be easy to do.
I blame Thetans. She must have been lousy with them.
I suspect they use anything they want when they want to. They talk about cowboys, I suspect they have nothing but cowboy justice because they don't have to answer to anyone.
