And yet at 17 he was legally too young to drive there. Well, why would that stop him. He was too young for the clubs too, but seemed to have no trouble getting in them. Not to mention underage for drinking.
IIRC, the photo had part of the word TATTOO in the background behind the guy in the white shirt and two DJ's in t-shirts.
Perhaps Steve also operated the water taxi, just a thought.
later...
Yeah, it probably doesn't matter that he had the white shirt on.
Correction to my post--Mi Dushi is a boat...sails w/ food on Tues & Thurs/ 'Happy Hour' bar boat cruises on Wed & Fri. Couldn't find anything about captain or crew.
Kukoo Kunuku is NOT a boat. It's a party bus!
Didn't ping you last night, because I wasn't posting, but if you didn't read the posts about N's mother at the VdS house, there wasn't too much that was revealed.
The cameras had to be turned off at the request of Papa, while the 90 minute visit was going on, though it was pretty interesting, not to say amusing, at first. When Beth and Greta got to the house, Beth was trying to rouse them while standing outside the gates. The camera was rolling then, and they picked up Papa peeking out from behind some trees near the house.
He couldn't seem to decide at first whether he should go out to the gate or not, but Beth persisted in talking to him, and he very nervously went over to her. He does look very anxious as Greta reported.
But no cameras inside the house, and it was reported by Greta that here were 2 mothers both in pain. (Though of course Mama VdS was still sticking up for her son. Also we found out that she was in Holland at the time this all happened.)
I'm thinking that the captain, water taxi driver would have to be licensed. Esp. given that it's a commercial venture, I'd think that insurance would insist on it.
Beth finally got him out of the bushes by telling him she wanted to give him a prayer card.
Yes, interesting that once again the story changes. Now Papa wasn't at McD's at 3:00 am, it was hours earlier. He picked up J there at 11:00, took him home, and J must have left the house later without Papa knowing about it.
He says that was against the house rules, and he had no idea that J did that.
Also he somehow can't remember if he woke up J that morning for school. Huh?
Yes, a prayer card, that's right.
Beth Holloway Twitty should have been able to ask Anita Van der Sloot.
"When your son last saw my daughter was she alive and well, in fear of her dying, or dead?"
sp
What would be the point of asking her? Only an eye witness can answer that question.
Beth came away believing that progress is being made and more persons should be taken in for questioning.
I got the feeling that daddy Sloot might not have gone to the gate had Natalee's mom not said that she had a 'prayer card' for him.
She would never have gotten a straight answer to that question anyway.
Maybe someday we can find out what was discussed. Must have been fascinating. Hope Greta was taking voluminous notes.
I agree. I have been thinking this for quite some time. He seems to be thinner, and have a strange "greyness" to his skin. I thought it was just my imagination. Or I was being too critical. But he does not appear healthy. JMO
I'm sure Greta is taking mental notes to form a composite of information for ner "special" on the case at some point...or a book deal.
Somehow I got the idea that Daddy VDS did get his son around 11, brought him home. The son called Deepak and/or his brother about going back out to C and C's because Natalee wanted him to go there. Joran was not supposed to be out, nor was the younger brother. But they picked him up and they went there. Then, later, (or early in the a.m.) Joran's dad was called (again) to get Joran in the parking lot of McD's. That is how I have come to understand it.
Wasn't that something? She was a beautiful woman. But her eyes narrowed and she looked as angry as a person possibly can just using their eyes. If looks could kill. All of the people down there seem to us to be brainwashed. Everything with the Aruban system is great; Americans and their system is suspect. It's really troubling. Clearly intelligent people just can't see what is before them and blame any and everyone else (in this case, Americans in general and the Twitty's specifically) for their own incompetence and biased system of justice.
Just got a GretaWire: go to www.gretawire.com for photos and more info.
Maybe the brothers were told by Daddy VDS to take off with their car and clean it up real well, while Joran and Daddy took Natalee back home to decide what to do with her body. There was a call to the the DJ who lives in Santa Cruz at 6am in the morning...
I think that might be very close to part of the story. Which is why Daddy VDS was called. There was some problem, and even though Joran was out when he was not supposed to be, they needed Daddy VDS. I bet he was hopping mad that his son had skipped out, but if something serious had happened to Natalee, he probably immediately did what he could to cover it up.
