So, again we have documents with no originals?
The eight memos all labeled "secret" or "confidential" were first obtained by British reporter Michael Smith, who has written about them in The Daily Telegraph and The Sunday Times.
Smith told AP he protected the identity of the source he had obtained the documents from by typing copies of them on plain paper and destroying the originals.

The damage has already been done. Every bs story the come up with whittles away at W. They retract them but there are some whose opinions are swayed. The rats are trying to kill Bush by the death of 1000 cuts. Having the media run with this puke 24 hours a day really helps the rats as well.

I have copies, re-typed, of Bill Clinton's confessions that he raped women , snorted cocaine and had people killed to protect his political career.
Anyone know a paper that'll pay for the information?

Curiously enough, the Telegraph is a right wing paper.

Where does it say anything about the docs being fake? I read the posted article as saying something completely different.

You have to remember the right wing in Europe is not our friend. The right in England is the main one fighting us on Iraq. They are not conservatives like we are. They are still socialists and liberals. They are just not moonbats like the leftists in the labor party or the avowed socialists.

What did this reporter do?
1 -- (he SAYS he) retyped these ON AN OLD STYLE MANUAL TYPEWRITER. (pardon the caps)
2 -- Then he marked/stamped them Secret or confidential.
3 -- THEN says -- I guess when asked were are the originals -- that he burned them!
This says one thing to me....purposeful forgery...PERIOD! I'm going to enjoy them trying to put this genie back in the bottle...especially after Rather and the Air National Guard "memos".
Sheesh!

(he SAYS he) retyped these ON AN OLD STYLE MANUAL TYPEWRITER. (pardon the caps) Why? Why on an old style manual typewriter? To make it look like Sir Winston typed them in the war room?
Sorry...it's been a long day, and I am missing something here.

"If 11 September had not happened, it is doubtful that the U.S. would now be considering military action against Iraq," Straw wrote. "In addition, there has been no credible evidence to link Iraq with OBL (Osama bin Laden) and al-Qaida." Apparently Straw forgot about Clinton signing a resolution making removal of Saddam from power foreign policy. I think that was in 1998?
To: golfboy
"For Iraq, `regime change' does not stack up. It sounds like a grudge between Bush and Saddam." Okay, Okay, we admit it. Saddam Hussein ignored 14 UN resolutions, fired on U.S. aircraft, every intelligence agency in the world believed he had WMD and would use them, but President Bush ignored all of this and took him out because he just didnt like him. < /sarcasm >

I didn't see the word fake used either. Although the article does draw a picture which I can clearly see. The picture shows we are being served a steaming dish of manure in disguise. "Fake but accurate"....again.

What you're missing is this...the reporter is an idiot. Even
IF the alleged documents existed, they no longer do. Lack of any evidence to prove any claim. Simply hearsay.
Nothing left. No shred of believeable evidence.
And, the Left continues to march onward...like the good little lemmings and facists they are.

Sorry, I went back and re-read and it said an "old fashion typewriter" (as opposed to a computer). So I don't know if it was a manual (I now kinda doubt it).
