I wonder how much pressure there was on the doctor who performed the autopsy to reach certain conclusions.

None.

Also, who determined who was going to perform the autopsy?

It is standard practice for the county Medical Examiner (in this case, Pinellas County, Florida) to perform autopsies on those who die in that county.

Pathology can only show so much, as the ME cautioned. He could not even ascertain the cause of the imjury.
