My dad passed on in 2000. I miss him very much, but to me, my dad epitomized what is is to be an American man and father. Self sufficiency, hard work and honor.

I'm sure your father is looking down upon you in pride.

Beautiful.

Mine's been gone for 18 years now, and I still miss him. I also spoke at my father's memorial service.....most difficult speaking engagement I've ever had, in terms of trying to hold it together. Something tells me they would have liked each other....even if my dad was a flyboy!

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY TO ALL YOU DADS....you have no idea what an impact you have!

Thanks for a fine Father's Day tribune. I enjoyed reading it very much and thought of my own Dad who's been gone 25 years now. ( Seems impossible...)

Yes, I lost my dad in 1995. He too worked hard as a laborer supporting his family. Educated at a large University? Nope. Educated in life and fatherhood? Oh yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. :) God bless all fathers today including my husband and my soon to be a father, son.

What a beautiful tribute to your father..Thank you for sharing..

My dad died many years ago...It feels good to remember him and to recall what a fortunate daughter I am to have had him as a father.
