A Middle Eastern grocer in my neighborhood had to flee Libya. He was a secular, pro-democracy advocate and Qaddafi was trying to have him killed. There are many wonderful, courageous, pro-America Arabs and I'm thankful they came here.
Throughout my career I've worked with many people from the Middle East and have personally enjoyed all of them. I've worked for Iranian bosses and have had Iranian and Egyptian employees. On a personal level, there's been no problem. It's certainly a different story, however, on a broader cultural level. The lack of outrage by the U.S. arab community, the general sympathies with the jihadists, the failure to condemn the attacks on the U.S., the insane PC kowtowing to CAIR, the trumped-up and nonsensical charges about Gitmo -- all these things are souring me and many other Americans on the arab community.
