ALHAMBRA, Calif. Protesters on both sides of the immigration debate faced off peacefully today outside a Home Depot in Alhambra Many undocumented immigrants often wait for work there, and several dozen protesters from the group Save Our State gathered to demonstrate against them.
They were met with a much larger group that opposes policies against illegal immigrants. San Gabriel Neighbors Peace and Justice says the immigrants should be left alone because they are simply seeking honest work.
Save Our State members say they are not against immigrants. Some of them are immigrants themselves. They accused Home Depot support illegal immigrants by allowing undocumented laborers to stand outside their stores.
Home Depot said in a statement it does not support illegal immigration but can't stop workers from standing near its stores.
When you call Alhambra PD today, I hope you make particular mention of "Lt. Lopez." Please post the results of your call.
Just think...those vicious, racist animals you encountered may one day be the majority in California.
Home Depot in our area posted No Loitering signs. That'll help.....NOT!
What about chargiing them with loitering, tresspassing, vagrancy?
I will never shop at Home Depot again, but, maybe I'll just stand "near" (whatever that means) their stores and see what companies are picking up illegals from there.
You need to look up the word invasion in a dozen dictinoaries, as I have done. An invasion does NOT require an army bearing arms. Locusts can invade, SQUATTERS can invade, diseases can invade.
Invasion: \In*va"sion\, n. [L. invasio: cf. F. invasion. See Invade.] [1913 Webster]
1. The act of invading; the act of encroaching upon the rights or possessions of another; encroachment; trespass.
2. A warlike or hostile entrance into the possessions or domains of another; the incursion of an army for conquest or plunder. [1913 Webster]
3. The incoming or first attack of anything hurtful or pernicious; as, the invasion of a disease.
(Note the order of primary and secondary definitions in Websters)
Your limited definition is very short sighted. Look at it this way: by your definition, 500 armed men crossing the border (Pancho Villa, 1916) constitutes an invasion, but ten million unarmed (for the time being!) men does not.
Which poses the greater long-term threat, especially if the ten million invading men pick up arms later, and refuse to obey the law, go home, or swear loyalty to the invaded country? If their goal is to establish "foreign beachheads" in enclaves? Which consider those enclaves to be territory of their own country, prior to controlling the entire region, in this case, the Southwest?
Invasion: Thank you.
Note: I was not in Alhambra, I merely passed along the email blast from SOS. I guess I wasn't clear enough in the top of that reply.
BUMP!
We need a national boycott of LA. These racist hispanic (ie. hispanic hitlers) should be shown on national tv.
It's gonna get REALLY ugly real fast if that crap comes into Texas
The problem is that California helps feed the nation. 2004 was the first year in American history that we imported more food than we exported. With Mexico and communists seemingly controlling California, we're f*****.
"I think it's time that the Governor speaks up and sets the record straight about illegal immigration in California . Hewon'tCAN'T, and that'spartALL of the problem."
BTTT...
As with Jeff Head's books, yours are becoming less fictional by the day. I admire your courqge in facing the beast.
i don't think these confrontations serve our interests.
I wasn't in Alhambra, I merely reposted the SOS email blast. I should have been more clear at the top of #42.
Why the hell do we let them hide behind race? Mexican isn't a race. It's a nationality.
Yes, its hard to believe today that this state was more than less reliably republican up until 20 years ago. I can hardly recognize the place.
amazing...welcome to america2005
