If the memos weren't fake, why did the reporter destroy the originals? A good reporter would have kept the originals locked up somewhere.
I did not say the memos were not fake. I said that an accurate copy of a real original memo is just as "real" as the original, although much more difficult to validate. Burden of proof should be on the one presenting the copied documents.
Does it say that? The quote says he returned the originals to the source.

A 'good forger' would never have had any 'originals' to lock up.
