ELISTA, June 17 (RIA Novosti) - Russia needs independence from the foreign market but transition to it should be very careful, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at the meeting with agrarians in Kalmyk capital Elista (southern Russia). According to him, the state gives much attention to agricultural problems. "We are ready for further steps to protect and support Russian producers. However, they should be very careful not to inflict damage on the consumer market and prevent growth of meat prices," the head of state said. He spoke about "the great dependence on meat imports." "Last year imported meat prices grew by 40%. It influenced prices on the domestic market," Putin added.
"Consumers' interests are the final goal and decisions in this sphere should be balanced," he said.
According to Putin, agricultural growth was 1.6% in 2004.
"This is lower than the economic growth rate as a whole, therefore, we should revise agricultural problems," he said.
A number of steps were taken recently to improve the situation.
"The results are obvious. We turned into grain exporters from grain importers," Putin said.
However, there are many problems, particularly, in the sphere of cattle breeding, the president added.
Putting your economy first, ahead of the "global" market, what a novel concept.
Shame on you! You obviously don't see that this is part of his plan at world domination!!
"We are ready for further steps to protect and support Russian producers."
Sounds like he's stepping back in the direction of Communism, much like his other moves.
Which other moves, private property reform? Judicial trial by jury reform? Low taxes? Christian education in schools and the military? Ban on abortion after 12 weeks? Those communist moves? He's protecting Russian industry from free traitors like the ones who are sinking ours.
"I thought this is an American-conservative forum, not a socialist-russian one."
Wake up and smell the coffee, dude. The communists have locked down the Democratic Party, now they are edging into the Republican Party.
Ranting against free trade is considered an acceptable entree to begin subversion of the conservative position. For example, it is a staple of Michael Savage, generally conservative but also a maverick.
"All his habits and his instincts push him in one direction: to rebuild the communist empire."
Yes, and according to Golitsyn, the current phase of Russian government was planned back in 1957-60, when the long-range, world-wide communist plan was laid down.
Sounds far-fetched, except Golitsyn was a high ranking KGB agent until 1961 when he defected to the US, and he helped craft the strategy. He has been making successful predictions of what will happen next in the Soviet Union and Russia for decades (94% accuracy by one man's analysis).
For awhile, he worked closely with Angleton (head of CIA) but they were both defeated, ultimately, by the numerous compromised agents in Western intelligence and agents of influence in the West.
