Your son going through Officer Candidate School, is he? I'm applying, myself, as a college-option. You say he'll be commissioned next year; when does he go to OCS?
He had a little problem last fall. While on an exercise at a ROTC Training area, he broke his arm. Had screws and pins in his elbow - he's healed perfectly according to the doc. This has caused him not to go to Air Assualt school this summer. So he will be commissioned next summer, after he completes Air Assualt school. I believe he goes to OCS after that, probably in the fall.
He has a playground in the back yard. He has a 50ft. length of 3 inch manila line hung up in a tree. He likes to climb this. Tires, like in football camp to run through. He had an old pick up that had a ladder rack, this is now his Chin Up bar.
He fills is Ruck Sack with 70lbs from his weight bench, for his 2 mile run. He runs with the Ruck and without it. He just told me he has his 1 mile run down to just a little over 5 min.
He took his bed out of his room about 2 years ago, he sleeps on the floor! He went to enlisted boot camp last summer, the first time he had a bed in over a year! LOL!!!
He has some plans to expand his play ground - Roman Chair, a rope slide from the top of the tree on his 3 inch line. No net !!! I told him to try cardboard boxes. He's dedicated!! 101st Airborne, then Rangers is his plan.
