Im like wtf.... go find another spot. Walking is good exercise, they wont have to park a half mile away like I had to do in college. It would serve them right to get backed into.

Well I have no sympathy for this turd head. He parked in a marked reserved spot, gets caught and then whines like a b!tch. If you don't want to get blocked in, then don't park in marked reserved spots.

Oops. No idea. I guess I hit the wrong 'Post Reply.' It was meant as a reply to the article - not you.

The F.B.I. which used to have an excellent reputation has a lot of improving to do to get the respect they once had. This type episode certainly does help them get there.

How are they allocated reserve parking spaces. The lease is paid with taxpayer money. But then these are federal civilian personnel who cannot be sued, fired or held accountable so they can do whatever they want.

I find it hard to give a lot of credence to an article which begins :

"It's not enough that there's a global war on terror and a fight for homeland security. Have you ever tried to find a parking place in central Lancaster?"

DEPRIVATION OF RIGHTS UNDER COLOR OF LAW

Summary:

Section 242 of Title 18 makes it a crime for a person acting under color of any law to willfully deprive a person of a right or privilege protected by the Constitution or laws of the United States. For the purpose of Section 242, acts under "color of law" include acts not only done by federal, state, or local officials within the their lawful authority, but also acts done beyond the bounds of that official's lawful authority, if the acts are done while the official is purporting to or pretending to act in the performance of his/her official duties. Persons acting under color of law within the meaning of this statute include police officers, prisons guards and other law enforcement officials, as well as judges, care providers in public health facilities, and others who are acting as public officials. It is not necessary that the crime be motivated by animus toward the race, color, religion, sex, handicap, familial status or national origin of the victim.

The offense is punishable by a range of imprisonment up to a life term, or the death penalty, depending upon the circumstances of the crime, and the resulting injury, if any.

TITLE 18, U.S.C., SECTION 242

Whoever, under color of any law, statute, ordinance, regulation, or custom, willfully subjects any person in any State, Territory, Commonwealth, Possession, or District to the deprivation of any rights, privileges, or immunities secured or protected by the Constitution or laws of the United States, ... shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than one year, or both; and if bodily injury results from the acts committed in violation of this section or if such acts include the use, attempted use, or threatened use of a dangerous weapon, explosives, or fire, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both; and if death results from the acts committed in violation of this section or if such acts include kidnaping or an attempt to kidnap, aggravated sexual abuse, or an attempt to commit aggravated sexual abuse, or an attempt to kill, shall be fined under this title, or imprisoned for any term of years or for life, or both, or may be sentenced to death.

That's being "blocked in?" It's an SUV for God's sake. Cut it 45 degrees to the left and drive it forward over the 4-inch curb. This is like being stuck on an escalator and yelling for help.

"Don't mess with the FBI. You'll lose," Hayes said one of the agents told him.

Classic Fumbling Bums arrogance...

From Deep Throat on down, FBI agents are pigs. They are a necessary evil, but they are pigs.

That's the attitude that Americans are supposed to have regarding "public officials". Good show.

----------------------------------------------------------

The business complex is zoned for professional and medical uses with limited retail. The center's conditional-use permit on file with the city includes a shared-parking agreement with tenants, which means anyone can park there, said Brian St. John, a senior code enforcement officer.

""The lease gave them five spaces. Everybody signed it," Drew said. He acknowledged that "people are parking in their spaces, which they have every right to do."

---------------------------------------------------------

If the lease states that anyone can park there, then who's being the "t*rd" ??
The guys with the guns and the badges, abusing their authority and blocking people in ??

If the FBI is "legally justified" in claiming those spaces, then why didn't They call the tow truck, instead of blocking the vehicle??
Sorry, packrat35, I think the FBI are just being "d*cks"..

Don't park in reserved spots, unless you're the one holding the reservation.

Exactly.

FBI agents have been known to shoot innocent folks without suffering any consequences.

Where, when, source?

Both sides are wrong in this instance but the FBI guys are way way over the top. They are public SERVANTS. When they bring their jobs into this inapproriately they should be immediately smacked down to size.

I was thinking the same thing. The CCRs override the lease. The land owner can't legally write an enforceable lease that breaks CCRs.
