I think you are right.
Some people may be posting here as parodies of conservatives, trying to make conservatives look like mean people. I wouldn't put that past liberals to do exactly that.
REAL Freepers and conservatives are very compassionate people.
You have a very forgiving image of conservatives and FReepers... yes, there are many many very kind people, but our group, like any group of people, has it's share of grouchy curmudgeons too. ;~D
"Pretty amazing story, documented."
I'll by that, it's documented. But little Roy Horn sinking in the quicksand and being saved by his faitful pet is, as far as i know, just his story and not documented beyond his book. Would love to see the newspaper story from the time of the event. C'mon, he's a showman out to sell a something for profit.
I stand corrected. The book, written by them, was published in 92. Seigfried & Roy: Mastering the impossible. The main side business now is videos and DVD's like the The Magic Box, '98, in which this quicksand story plays a major part. And Sigfreid & Roy: Masters of the Impossible, '96. Hey, I wish the guy all the best and certainly a full recovery. I am just saying that the quicksand story sounds very farfetched, if fans of theirs do not like it, can't help that. Give me proof of the quicksand story and I will certainly say, great...cool story
Speaking of "Mittens," we use to have a cat that was half-ocelot. One day....;-)
Actually, from the story I have, (the animal trainers) Roy suffered a stroke. There is debate as to whether after the stroke the cat tried to drag Roy off in a protective nature, or used to opportunity to attack. I think much of the re-hab had to do with a stroke. Roy complained of serious headaches the night before during a party.
I thought the tiger dragging him and causing some damage was what caused the stroke.
I do think hte tiger just wanted to save him, humans just aren't equipped with the loose skin that tiger cubs are, which makes them easy to drag around without harm.
