This story is flying under the radar of the MSM...wonder why.
Originally published in the New York Post, the story detailed the mysterious deaths of two friends, Captain Phillip Esposito and Lieutenant Louis Allen, both NY Army National Guard, who were killed by an explosion in Tikrit on June 7 as they slept.
Staff Sergeant Alberto Martinez was arrested today and charged with murder.
No further details have been given.
This is a real heart breaker. And what a piece of trash to do something like that! Maybe the U.S. military should just take Martinez and drop him into a Sunni stronghold.
Thanks for the reference. I wonder what info will come out about Martinez?
Thanks...I just got that from sky...sorry about that.
ROP convert ?
This is the first I've heard of this case. How sad for the families. And yet I read the other day that the Army is lowering its standards - even illegal aliens are admitted.
I was wondering the same. I remember when John "Malvo" was arrested.
Yeah, I know what you mean, I think -- really bad cases like this one are interesting in a twisted kind of way. I guess that's just human nature.
Mostly I just hope the evidence shows they got the right guy. (I suspect that will be the case, but you never know.)
What the h*** are you talking about? Do you have a citation for that?
Oh, no problem. It's a different article with a different headline.
I just wanted to direct people to the earlier post so they could read or add to the comments there also.
I'm usually a big fan of Ms. Malkin, but in this case she seems to be picking on a good soldier where there are larger problems that are more deserving of her ire. She shouldn't be surprised if the Army stands by one of their own who's doing a good job -- that's how the Army works, and this cohesion gives strength.
Wait a minute, ILLEGAL aliens? You know, on this forum I talked about a good friend of mine (from Mexico) that enlisted in the Army during the Vietnam war, served honorably in combat and was honorably discharged. I stood for him at his citizenship hearing at the Federal court in Brownsville, Texas. Juan was a legal RESIDENT ALIEN (refer to the INS code please), not an illegal alien however, there's a world of difference! Are you sure about the ILLEGAL alien status?
BTW, Juan said that he waited awhile (after being discharged) to put in for citizenship until he felt like he had EARNED it! Lordy, where are there more "aliens" like Juan??
God bless you Juan Castillo, wherever you are...
Okay, I think I remember that story, not sure where I heard or saw it though, what an outrage. As I remember, there were illegal aliens in sensitive positions within the military.
Things are really becoming chaotic to the point of no return, or is my paranoia surfacing?
