I'm always concerned for my brother and his family in San Diego, and my sister and her family in San Francisco.

Earthquakes are such a bother. At least we get warnings of hurricanes.

They wouldn't leave California for anything. Sheeshhh.......

It depends where the earthquake is centered as to which
areas get more damage than others.
Over the yrs. bldgs have to be built up to code.
In the foundation of high rises, they are on rollers,
sounds odd but that helps let them sway rather than
brake. Older bldgs and freeway overpasses have had
to be retrofitted over the yrs.
As a native here and having been in other states and Europe
I wouldn't leave either.
What area of San Diego does your brother live?
