I have that "stunt" perception.
The sad reality is that if this had been a Democrat event she would have been treated much more covertly into party exile.
At least the republicans were up front about their concerns with her presence, there is no "lie".
Sometimes trust has to be earned. The good part is that she was not there to make the republicans suddenly go pro-porn. (like other infultrators to the republican party)
You think so? I don't think so, I think they would have welcomed her with open arms and praised her for her "bold" career choice or some other such nonsense.
Sometimes trust has to be earned.
Agreed, and I think she's actually started off right in trying to earn that trust by NOT acting like a porn chick or some outspoken activist while there. She apparently acted pretty normal which at least hints at honesty.
The good part is that she was not there to make the republicans suddenly go pro-porn. (like other infultrators to the republican party)
That's what I meant above. She wasn't "hawking her wares" or trying to legitimize her business or surely someone would have reported that. From all the reports, she was actually there to attend and not make a statement, other than something akin to, "Hey, I agree with these guys about such and such and I'd like to join the Party." That and they blew 5000 bucks just to go. You spend that kind of dough on a PR stunt, you d*mned well do something to get some PR. Thus far it's just been, "Hey, a porn chick went to the GOP event" and really nothing more than that. As bizarre as it sounds, it seems legit to me. Be it for her own political apirations or to support President Bush, legit either way.
But hey, I've been wrong before. :)
