Isn't it interesting how you noticed that, filed it away, and now it makes sense.

And the comment about the police "not being cowboys" struck me too. It was like, wait, we are your big customers, we fly down there and spend our money on your island so why dissing the President. At that moment I suspected something, like he was part of the Chirac/Chretian connection.

We are good here, we should work for the FBI.

Lots of 'cowboys' in Central & South America, too. And, in the case of the Hollywood B movie Westerns, the 'cowboys' almost always wore the white hats and meant well even if they were sometimes a tad hasty to saddle up and ride out to save the day.

Blog comment from 9-16-02 - interesting tie-in with your info.

"It’s interesting that you were in Aruba when this was happening. Many think Aruba is a beautiful vacation spot but it is actually a transit point for money and drugs for both the US an Euro drug markets.

Actually U.S. tobacco companies (Philip Morris, RJ Reynolds) facilitate laundering drug money by dumping cigarrettes in Aruba for the black market.

If you believe the commercials in the U.S. about drugs helping terrorists, and you are a smoker, I’d quit smoking.

I’d also stop eating any Kraft products because Philip Morris owns Kraft.

If Bin Laden ain’t around to kick in the groin, there are plenty of others who need a kick in the groin (especially the mafia). "
