I wasn't rationalizing anything. I was merely noting that Bob Dole receives praise from various quarters for his work in the Balkans (he's a big hero to Samantha Power), and Bubba gets qualified praise.

Samantha Power used a phrase uttered by former Secretary of State Warren Christopher to describe Bosnia "a problem from hell" as the title of her book. Warren Christopher was using it during the height of Muslim-Croat fighting partly about the complications it brought about when the State Department was trying to get them back together again. The State Department wanted them both to fight the Serbs, not each other.

The fact that she took his phrase and uses to push the claim of "genocide" in Bosnia is deceptive when the phrase was more for a civil war complication and much about the Muslim-Croat fighting, which the media downplayed.

Dole was paid out, he did nothing of worth in terms of Balkan policy. He shilled for the Albanians.
