There is something mentally ill about getting involved with your own feces.

LOL. Even a dog won't mess with it's own poop. The best way to stop a dog that digs is to put it's own poop in the hole it's making.

I've seen dogs eat their own poop. And a cat turd is delicacy to them.

Depends. Many will eat their own poop. I've owned several different dogs over the years that did.
