It appears that you are not going to back off of your faulty analogy between the space shuttle and Columbus's voyage.
This is one of the favorite red herrings of the tax and waste it on NASA space heads. There was something of value that Columbus was looking for. Space has rocks, dirt, and ice, all of which can be obtained for about 1/10000000 the cost right here on earth.
