Well, choking will kill you just as dead as a spinal cord injury. It's all about priorities.

True. I probably would have asked for held and rotated his entire body. Since we weren't there we don't know all the finer details that determine just what is the better choice.

Yeah. Hard call, but the certainty of suffocation Vs the possibility of spinal damage makes this as good a call as he could make under the circumstances.

Rolling the victim on his side while maintaining spinal alignment is another acceptable action, but difficult to do with only two responders not trained to work together.
