Why aren't there any republican leaders with good name recognition who are willing to tell it like it is? There are good people (and some of them are Democrats), but they can't get the air time or ink. The problem is with major media outlets that filter reports. (It's an oxymoron to call them the "mainstream media," because they are anything but mainstream.) Unfortunately, networks such as CBS, ABC, and NBC will be slow to die off, because people like their entertainment shows. Encouragingly, the readership of the NY and LA Times is supposedly declining. FOXNews and blogs/forums are starting to help. The efficacy of the latter is evidenced by attempts to regulate or shut them down. |
