Three out of five French people miss their old currency, replaced by the euro in 2002, a survey for Valeurs Actuelles magazine showed on Wednesday. In February 2002 that figure was just 39 percent.

In Germany, the other driving force behind EU integration, 56 percent want to see the return of the mark, according to a survey published earlier this year by Stern magazine, which found the euro being blamed for price rises and economic woes.

However, 136% of Greeks and 114% of Portuguese prefer the euro to the drachma or the escudo.

i know, what kind of pyramid scheme have they got planned?? REAL prices have gone up tremendously in france, germany, and nl especially, and everyone complains about it. but as long as britain is content paying $10 for a pack of cigarettes...we're not supposed to complain?
