June 15, 2005 -- The shattered father of a Queens deli clerk shot dead by a retired police detective last fall collapsed in tears yesterday, telling a crowded courtroom how the incident had torn his life apart.
"Every day, I miss his smile," said Noe Chametla, 40, of his boy. "Every day, I miss the phrase, 'Papi, I love you.' I don't have the chance to see him grow older, to see him become a man."

Oh man, you gotta be kidding me! I live not 10 blocks from there! I never heard of this, working too much I guess. What the hell was wrong with that guy? He`s a retired cop and Marine and he`s playing around with his gun in a deli? What was he, drunk or something?

Pathetic punishment. He murdered in cold blood. The story never made sense from the first telling.
I can't fathom why someone who "should know better" , would "play" with a firearm.

3 years with good behavior will be around 6 months, if he had killed somebody while drunk and driving he would be looking at 5-20 years. I'm not litigous but I hope the father can sue the hell out of this murderer.
