...Why does our Government think it's necessary to STEAL from its OWN WIDOWS and ORPHANS...???!!! I hate the death tax as well, just on principle. But that statement is over the top. Widows, and orphans (minor children) don't pay the death tax.
It's also interesting to note that the super rich, like the Gates family and Buffet oppose repealing the death tax. That's because after your reach the stratospheric level of wealth, the death tax no longer applies thanks to trust loopholes that 4 generations of Kennedys have been sucking from. Only the megga wealthy have access to those loopholes.

How do so many people talk themselves into believing they would EVER be rich enough to qualify their survivors for such a tax?Just every poor dirt farmer and mom and pop store owner in the country qualifies for the tax. These are not rich people and often must sell the business to pay the death tax.

Please. That is the biggest load of crap ever shoved down your throat by the super-rich responsible for the "Death Tax" myth.Excuse me, I lost my father, a farmer, 20 years ago and watched my mother struggle to keep the farm. I have experienced it. What are you, some sort of Socialist who believes that those that work hard don't deserve to keep what they earned.

Our wealth is in the land and the intangibles of the lifestyle. The pickup is 17 years old and runs just fine.
I'd like for my son to be able to keep the family farm.
