if you did that, they would be near empty. there is no demand for commercial space in a rebuild of the towers, especially since they would be the #1 terror target in the world.

just build the memorial.

Then they won. It's that simple - I know there is a glut on office space in the city -but that will change it always ebbs and flows. But just for the sake of our national pride.....REBUILD THEM BIGGER AND BETTER

DAMN THE TORPEDOES AND FULL SPEED AHEAD

It's like we have no balls as a society left.....what are we FRENCH?

A memorial without rebuilding the towers would be a memorial to the terrorists. The real symbolic gesture that is absolutely necessary is to REBUILD THE TOWERS! I don't want to hear that defeatist you wouldn't find tenants because it would be a terrorist target. Thats like nobody flew after 9-11 because of fear of terrorists. Well, we got over it. Air traffic is at levels higher that it ever was. Have their been any more suicide planes since we started kickin' some muslim extremist ass all over the friggin' world? These towers can be marketed just like anything else. We need to find anchor tenants and give them incentives for being there. Some high visibility government agencies should be in there like treasury, FBI, CIA etc. Some high power corporations looking to uplift their national image could be given incentives to locate there. The towers logo could be a powerful symbol to associate with....like Prudential does with the Rock of Gibraltar. The public relations value alone would be worth the risk, especially if there were economic incentives. Once the anchors were in place the rest would follow.
This is necessary for America. One of the reasons we have lost some support and enthusiasm for the war is because we haven't connected it with how much safer we are at home.Putting up the towers would be a huge spiritual catharsis for the nation and galvanize or support for the war on muslim extremism. Those towers got to go back up. If anybody thinks that we win with some kind of sorry ass memorial to the dead they are thinking scared. America is a can do nation....no muslim arabs living in caves and on sand dunes are capable of stopping us. If we don't rebuild the towers, it says were afraid they can do it again. Come on now, be real, they used our technology and our trusting positive free spirit and combined it with a suicidal, demented, self destructive, religion to attack us without provocation. Our eyes are open now...lets rebuild and dare them to try again. I don't want to hear anything less than total commitment from those of us patriotic enough to love what we stand for.
