I started shooting black powder, and have both a flintlock and a percussion .50 smokepoles and well as a couple of replica Navy .44 cap and ball, and a Kentuckian .45 muzzleloading flint single shot pistol.
What a lot of fun!

I have a .50 cal flintlock with a four foot long barrel, like the kind my ancestors used in the Revolutionary War. It is more fun to shoot than any modern weapon and my cap 'n ball revolvers are a blast (pun intened) to fire.
