Naser Hadian, professor at the faculty of law and political science at Tehran university, said the Europeans and the Americans should offer good incentives to the Islamic Republic in order to generate a debate in the country whether Iran should exercise its legitimate right to nuclear technology for peaceful purpose or accept those incentives.
"If the Europeans and Americans want Iran not exercising a legitimate right, they have to offer really good incentives at security level, political level and at economic level,'' Hadian told IRNA in an interview in Brussels.
At the security level, he explained, one was "extension of nuclear umbrella to Iran. In case we are attacked we know there is some support there." The second one is security arrangement for the region which include Iran and the third is a nuclear free zone, he said.
"All of these incentives could generate a debate in Iran whether it is better to get these things or it is better to continue to exercise our right," said the Iranian analyst.
Hadian was in Brussels to take part in a seminar on Iran's nuclear program organized by the Brussels-based think-tank Center for European Policy Studies on Monday.
He said it will take a lot of time to overcome the mistrust between the Americans and the Iranians.
"Because of a lot of common interest which we have, still there is a good chance that through negotiations we can build confidence and confidence-building measures which will help to remove this mistrust." "As President Khatami has said this wall of mistrust is high we should bring it down and I hope we can,'' said Hadian.
Concerning the EU-Iran nuclear dialogue, the Iranian professor said he was optimist about the outcome.
"I am optimist that something finally will come up which will be beneficial to all sides," he said.
I can think of some "incentives" but it isn't what these clowns have in mind.
Someone have a picture of a nuke explosion they can post here....

We should all take what they have to say very, very seriously /sarcasm off
OK
Howz this for an incentive - you give up your nuke plans verifiablyu and irreversibly NOW and we won't turn your nuke labs and weapon stores and military installations simultaneously into ash and glass.
Deal?
The main problem with Iranian regime is not their Nuclear ambition but their poor human rights record.
Regime still thinks it is a legitimate regime, therefore the free world should protect it.
What a naive regime they have!
They'll need a big lead umbrella for protection from one of these.
Stop immediately if you want to live.
How's that?
