I think most conservatives realize we are at war. The PA is nothing compared to what happened during the WWII or the Civil War for that matter. In World War Two, we fought a finite enemy that was named: Japan, and Germany.
We didn't fight the CONCEPTS of the Blitzkreig or the Kamakazi.
Here, we are fighting the CONCEPT of terrorism, not a finite enemy that is named.
Thusly, this war has no chance of ever ending. They are asking us to give up our rights forever. No thank you.

That is one valid argument against the PA. Another argument is that we are not at war.
We are fighting nations which support transnational terrorists. So far, Afghanistan and Iraq have been successfully won. That would leave at least Iran, Syria and NK. I would hardly define that as a war against concepts.

Thusly, this war has no chance of ever ending. Not fair, Laz. Heck, this thing might be wrapped up inside of 300 years.
Then, you can have all your rights back.

Here, we are fighting the CONCEPT of terrorism, not a finite enemy that is named.
Which is why we have wars against concepts.
They are a source of emergency derived powers not allowed by a strict reading of our nation's founding documents.
in other words, a way to grab power that is NOT yours by using 'emergencies' real or imagined.... and preserving that emergency status power, for ever.

Not forever - only until you die.
