IMHO...As the prosecutor...Sneddon should have had wittnesses that when they went up to the stand...had a story as solid as the rock of Gibraltar. So soild that no matter what the defense hurled at them...it couldn't be cracked.
That didn't happen. Sneddon sent people up to the wittness box that were damn near criminals themselves. And the defense picked apart their stories piece by piece.
The defense was able to portray the mom as a Grifter...the kids as out of control brats...the hired help that spoke against MJ as money grubbing ungrateful ex-employees.
Hell even Debbie Rowe...one of the DA's "aces" came out favorably for MJ.
Everything the DA tossed out as "proof" the defense was able to counter.
That is why I say the DA "dropped the ball".
The judge knocked the "good balls" out of the prosecutors' hands.
The DA did right by bringing this case.
The jury believe the defense atty and put the mother on trial rather the real defendant MJ.
McCauley Caulkin's career would have been in jeopardy if he'd said he'd been molested, so of course he lied. As to Debbie Rowe, she's hoping to get alimony payments renewed, so she had her own agenda. And you have to wonder how much money changed hands or threats by Jackson's family/entourage. If Joe Jackson's physically threatening Sneddon in the hallway last week, what else were they up to? MJ is the money machine for that entire bunch except maybe Janet. And she and LaToya have both made statements to the press that MJ's behavior with children is 'inappropriate'.
I think snedden was blinded by his zelousness.
Jackson may have done the molesting in other situations, but this specific one came across as a con job using michael's past as an attack point.
Since this was the only case before him this was the only case the jury could decide.
The DA dropped the ball before the first juror was selected. Snedden showed he had a weak case because he had to resort to press conference games and leftist gestapo portrayals of executing his valid search warrents.
I believe it was not a portrayal as a grifter, she was proven to be a grifter because the jury voted the way it did.
In the end Snedden had snedden done nothing it would have not stopped the steady decline of MJ. Snedden has now done more to rehabilitate Jackson's career than any other stunt. That has to really bug him.
