I differ from the author's conclusion in this: It is in splitting both the "known" and the "knower" from the Maker of all Knowledge that a rip in wisdom occurs and this produces a gap in the cloth of Reality in which only evil can be sown.

Hi .30Carbine! The author doesn't disagree with your conclusion, above! Knower and known are both subject to the Truth of reality, its Logos, which is eternally binding. The problem is that people who do not accept this understanding are "observers" who do not understand what they're really observing. And so the situation described as follows can arise:

"Contrary to the scientific propaganda, orthodox science is ruthless in defending its doctrine against all would-be heretics. Much of science has been converted to a religion, instead of a science. Any person knowledgeable of scientific history can cite numerous examples of scientific suppression, character assassination, and essentially banishment. Gauss’s nonlinear geometry, Wegener’s continental drift, Mayer’s discovery of the conservation of energy, Ovshinsky’s amorphous semiconductors, physical therapy, the EKG, and the clinical use of hypnosis come readily to mind. Scientists form a distribution, just like any other group. Some of them are saints. Some of them are devils. The broad majority is neither, but is made up of ordinary people like you and me, doing a specialized job. Every scientific model is known to be falsifiable and imperfect in the first place, if you believe in Gödel’s theorem. Scientific method does not yield total truth anyway, by its own assertion; at best it yields a partial truth. By the Heisenberg uncertainty principle, every measurement distorts the entity with which the instrument interacts, changing what actually appears to be measured. Real scientists know that scientific models are progressive. For any model, sooner or later a better one, an improvement, will be found." — Thomas E. Bearden [his bolds]

Bearden Bio:

Lieutenant Colonel U.S. Army (Retired). President and Chief Executive Officer, CTEC, Inc. MS Nuclear Engineering, Georgia Institute of Technology. BS Mathematics, Northeast Louisiana University. Graduate of Command & General Staff College, U.S. Army. Graduate of Guided Missile Staff Officer's Course, U.S. Army (equivalent to MS in Aerospace Engineering). Numerous electronic warfare and counter-countermeasures courses.

Tom is a leading conceptualist in alternate energy technology, mind/matter interaction, EM bioeffects, paranormal phenomena, parapsychology, psychotronics, Tesla technology, and unified field theory concepts. He is the leading advocate of scalar potential electromagnetics, and has worked with several inventors involved in alternate energy devices and scalar electromagnetic system prototypes. He advanced the first force-free redefinition of mass as well as an electromagnetic mechanism that generates the flow of time, and has proposed a testable resolution of the century-old debate over the way in which energy flows in electrical circuits. He defined charge q as a coupled system of two components, and not unitary at all. He advanced a mechanism for electromagnetically producing a vacuum engine, whereby the vacuum itself is utilized to energetically shape and manipulate matter and energy. In August 1991 Sweet (now deceased) and Bearden reported in the hardcore technical literature Sweet's successful extraction of electromagnetic power (500 watts) from the vacuum, and the world's first highly successful antigravity experiment where the weight of a 6-pound device was reduced by 90 percent on the laboratory bench. Tom recently proposed and released worldwide a simple, novel mechanism for extracting free electrical energy from the vacuum and powering external loads. He and his CTEC colleagues are rapidly pioneering a formal theory of such overunity electrical machines. Four patents have been filed to date and two more are in progress.

He proposed a new mechanism and model for the interaction of EM fields and radiation with biological systems - the fundamental model used by EM bioeffects researchers is inadequate and yields contradictory experiments and studies, difficult or impossible replicability, and almost no fundamental causative mechanisms. Tom discovered and published a fundamental mechanism for generating a quantum potential, which produces action-at-a-distance as well as multiply connected spacetime. Utilizing personal and species quantum potentials, he has redefined cancer in a new light and advanced a primary long-term, cumulative causative mechanism for the disease. He has explained the causative mechanism for Priore’s demonstrated total EM remissions of terminal tumors and other diseases such as trypanosomias and suppressed immune systems in laboratory animals under rigorous scientific protocols.

Tom is the author of several books and videotapes and numerous papers. He is President and CEO of CTEC, Inc., a private R&D corporation engaged in research on free energy devices and the mechanisms for interaction of EM fields and radiation with biological systems. He is president of the Association of Distinguished American Scientists (ADAS), a life member of the Alabama Academy of Science, and served on the Board of Directors of the U.S. Psychotronics Association and the American Association of Metascience. He edited and published Specula, Journal of the AAMS, for four years. He also served on the Board of Directors of Astron, Inc., a private aerospace R&D corporation in the greater Washington D.C. area, noted for its specialized RF antennas.

Tom is a guitarist, a retired akidoist (Sandan, Yoseikan style), is happily married and has two sons and two daughters. He and his wife Doris live in Huntsville, Alabama where Tom is retired from aerospace, continues private research, and serves as a special consultant to industry on scalar electromagnetics processes.

I’m reading one of his papers now, essentially on scalar EM and related matters. It’s really quite fascinating! (http://twm.co.nz/beard_interview.htm) Though I suspect many of our “methodological materialist” friends hereabouts may likely regard a man of Bearden’s interests as at least a bit of a nutcase. :^)

Anyhoot, I enjoyed his remarks about the practice of science above. They strike me as spot-on.

Thanks so much for writing, .30Carbine! And thank you for your kind words about the helpfulness of the article at the top!

This post too is very helpful in advancing my awareness of human possibility and experiment. I'm amazed at the number of names given for theories and modes of thinking and testing; my vocabulary has increased! Tom's "advance" of "an electromagnetic mechanism that generates the flow of time" intrigues me, to put it mildly.

Knower and known are both subject to the Truth of reality, its Logos, which is eternally binding.

Thank you also for this clarification!

"Contrary to the scientific propaganda, orthodox science is ruthless in defending its doctrine against all would-be heretics"...

Hark: across the waters echoes the lonely, plaintive, paranoid cry of Crackpotius Wackimax!

At least!!!

M'Lady, please refrain from injecting the paranoid ravings of self-serving pseudoscientists into what was a rational discourse on science and religion!

From Bearden's bio, as posted: "He is president of the Association of Distinguished American Scientists (ADAS), a life member of the Alabama Academy of Science, and served on the Board of Directors of the U.S. Psychotronics Association and the American Association of Metascience.

~~~~~~~~~~~
From "The Tom Bearden Website" (which bears reading -- in its entirety -- with a very critical eye):
The Association of Distinguished American Scientists is a tiny, tax-exempt, non-profit 501c(3) foundation incorporated in the State of Washington. It was founded in the 1960s by Dr. John Hubbard, meteorologist for the original atomic bomb test team, and other atomic scientists from that team. From its inception until his death in 1992, Dr. Hubbard was the President of the Association. Upon Dr. Hubbard's untimely passing, LTC (Retired) T.E. Bearden was elected President, and together with the Board moved the archives of the Association to Huntsville, Alabama.
The membership of the Association is restricted to those scientists and inventors who are awarded the Distinguished Scientist Award by the Association.
Review the list of "awardees" -- and note that all of the reputable scientists (Feynman, Franklin, Gibbs, et al) who are "members" are so, "posthumoously". IOW, their names were dragged into that gaggle of "metascientists" to boost its so-called credibility long after they were able to protest the misuse of their good names.
"New terms"? "Psychotronics", "metascience". "overunity", "negentropy", "psychokinesis", "superluminal communications" "forming negative resistors in storage batteries, thus dephasing the battery's internal ion current from the plate-to-external circuit electron current, and producing and demonstrating self-powering, open electrical systems far from thermodynamic equilibrium, using energy extracted from the vacuum"
The military has an appropriate descriptor for all of the above: Bravo Sierra!
