Hillary Clinton has recast her image in U.S. Senate as a moderate Democrat, but some of her political alliances may still haunt her.
According to Ed Klein's new book "The Truth About Hillary" set to be released in just days --Mrs. Clinton's chief political guru throughout the White House years and during her first campaign for the Senate was none other than Susan Thomases.
"Thomases was a bred-in-the-bone leftist," Klein says, in excerpts published in Vanity Fair.
She was also "a screamer of obscenities," Klein says of the tough talking feminist.
Klein says Thomases, who played a key role in damage control during the Clintons Whitewater days, was also "a fearless practitioner of the politics of intimidation.
"Over the years," writes Klein, "Thomases had become Hillary's best friend, alter ego, and chief enforcer. She looked the part. With her frizzy salt-and-pepper hair, frumpy clothes and, down-at-the-heel shoes, and expletive-laden vocabulary, Thomases was just the kind of strong-willed, ideologically passionate woman Hillary had always admired."
A high-powered, well-connected New York City lawyer while Hillary was still shackled to her husband's political career in Arkansas, Thomases was the kind of feminist that Hillary wanted to be - but couldn't because of Bill's political career.
Quoting an earlier Hillary bio, Klein notes:
"Thomases was anything but the traditional political wife; she kept her own name after marrying a carpenter-turned-artist, [the late] William Bettridge, who stayed home and took on many of the child-care responsibilities."
Meanwhile, Hillary's chief adviser kept watch at the White House, where she became "the Clinton administration's King Kong - whose advice on everything from personnel to policy [resounded] like a mighty roar through the halls of the West Wing."
The Klintoon's "King Kong" huh? I can only imagine what sort of competition there was for that distinction.
Run Mrs. Clinton, Run.
I'm stil waiting for the 'shocking" revelation that derails her presidential bid in this book...
Just how "close" was their relationship?
See Drudge, I guess.
That kind of attack will help her more than it hurts her, though.
Vince, can you hear me? Harold, has the check cleared? Bill, get off the secretary.
My thoughts exactly. The only thing that will "ruin" Hitlery is for the public to learn the "real" reason that BJ's womanizing was never that big an issue with her.
These books primarily benefit the authors and the subject. Without hard evidence, they're all hearsay at best.
Not exactly Anyone know knows anything about Thomases knows she's a hardcore Leftist lunatic.
Well .. during the first bimbo eruption .. Thomason gave an interview to some TV magazine show - and they mentioned that Susan was Hillary best friend. So I don't think that connection is really "hearsay".
And .. isn't Susan the same person who was the producer of Golden Girls and that other southern ladies sitcom ..?? If so .. both those shows were good at putting out the leftist or feminist agenda.
Best known for creating and writing the sensational Soap, Susan Harris created The Golden Girls with a mission in mind: to dispel the hoary old myth that, in her own words, 'when you grow older you are no longer vital, attractive, sexy and smart'. Good casting was critical: Bea Arthur and Rue McClanahan had appeared together in Maude, the former as the star; Betty White had enjoyed an important role in The Mary Tyler Moore Show before gaining her own starring vehicle The Betty White Show; and established stage actress Estelle Getty, much younger than the person she portrayed - a grey wig and an hour in make-up added the 20 years - was the vital fourth member of the team.
You're thinking of Linda Bloodworth-Thomason, producer of "Designing Women" who, with her husband, are close friends of the Clintons.
Susan Thomases has always been known as an advisor to Hillary, so that's not news. Just Google her, and you'll see her name is associated with Travelgate, Vince Foster, ...
Susan Thomases is also the sister-in-law of Donna Dees-Thomases, the founder of the "Million Moms March" anti-2nd amendment group.

People who unwittingly use profanity are lowlifes.
People who use profanity for effect are intellectual midgets.
Thomases was the one Hillary called several times on the night Foster died.
What are you suggesting?
Hmmmm? And here I thought it was Susan Thomason all this time. Thanks for the info.
"You're thinking of Linda Bloodworth-Thomason"
I think you're correct. That must be where I made the connection. Thanks!
