"It's crazy that America gives such a paltry percentage of its GNP to the starving nations."

Crazy as that may be, it's still far more than all of the other nations on earth combined. So shine on you crazy diamond!

Why don't these "artists" simply open their checkbook, donate, and then shut the f- up? I forgot... they need to stroke their ego. It is all about them, not the people who are receiving the charity.

Didn't that Norwegian jackass say the same thing about tsunami relief? Didn't even the UN tell him to STFU?

When these aging, overpaid has-beens and never-weres pull out their own checkbooks, instead of just going sing a few songs, then they can talk. In the meantime, they should follow the lead of that UN jerk and just crawl back under their rocks.

Geez I hope they don't make a movie out of this. The rockumentary "Pink Floyd: Live at Pompeii" is the worst movie I've ever seen. And I'm a fan of their music.

There was one hilarious moment in the film-- though it was unintentional. One of them (Waters, I think), looking like someone coming down from a 10 day acid trip, with stringy, greasy hair, bloodshot eyes and sounding like a complete stoner, was being interviewed and said with a straight face he didn't understand why people associated Pink Floyd with drugs.

Money, it's a crime.
Share it fairly but don't take a slice of my pie.

Great news for the music world.

But I wish they would keep their politics to themselves.

"'Like most people I want to do everything I can to persuade the G-8 leaders to make huge commitments to the relief of poverty and increased aid to the third world,' Gilmour said."

Interesting, not one person I know wants to do anything to persuade the G-8 leaders to make huge commitments to poverty relief anywhere.

I'd venture to guess most people the world over don't know what the G-8 is, what it does, when it meets, where it meets, etc.

Every dollar we send to Africa makes matters worse in the longterm. Aid to Africa just props up corrupt governments and allows them to channel their own resources to their cronies and militias. No money for Africa is my motto.

"It's crazy that America gives such a paltry percentage of its GNP to the starving nations."

Shut up and play.

This ignorance of these leftist using the GNP "argument" of the USA has got to stop. When our government taxes us like most other countries the US foreign aid "giving" as shown in the GNP would be much higher.

A country like Norway's (That taxes around 50-60%) GNP (In terms of foreign aid) is higher because the government taxes them up the ying yang.

Lets look at absolute $$$ oh pretentious one with the guitar skills. What do many Americans do with their $$$ that the GNP will not reflect? Americans give to charity without the use of the government getting in the way guitar man. Oh by the way, which one is Pink?
