I am sure that the word "traitor" in this context means a traitor to the republican party, the conservative ideals, and his republican constituents who originally elected him.

Not to the US.

And I have reluctantly come to agree with that assessment.

And that is just being PC. You are a traitor to this or a traitor to that. It takes the sting out of the word.

My dictionary has a definition for traitor that I think should be used: "someone who betrays his country by committing treason". There are tons of other terms that you can use that don't devalue the word 'traitor', like double-crosser, hypocrite, liar, bumpkin, etc.

Of course, the word treason is now being made PC as well, so I guess there is always a way out. Sigh.

Traitor, terrorist, communist. Does anyone actually know what these words mean anymore? All we know is that they are bad. In common parlance, they mean the exact same thing.
