Red Herring (Red China Double-Crossing USA in N. Korea Six-Party Talks?)

But Washington has far too optimistic a view of China's intentions. Unlike the United States, say Chinese officials and scholars, China appears unwilling to pressure North Korea on human rights and the North's nuclear program--and even appears willing to live with a nuclear North, a view few American officials share. U.S. pressure is unlikely to change China's mind. "The U.S. doesn't have any additional leverage over China on North Korea," says Han Park, a Korea specialist at the University of Georgia who has made many trips to Beijing and Pyongyang. Worse, by continuing to serve as an intermediary while doing little to actually promote progress, Beijing is boosting its diplomatic image in the region while helping ensure that the U.S. image continues to crumble.

I would go even further. North Korea is the puppet government of Red China. Red China pulls the strings, and we dance with their puppet (NK). What is up with our leaders!

PS I think the evidence is also pretty clear that Russia is playing the same game. More on that later.

We have plenty of leverage with China. We can totally close our borders to all of their cheap sh!t flooding our stores, we can definitely undermine their currency IF we really want to by prohibiting any and all U.S. corporations from doing business with them, and we can inform Beijing that if they don't want to disarm their little buddy in Pyongyang, that we will be ARMING our little buddy in Taipei with real OPERATIONAL nukes, not little prototype firecrackers like Menta Lee ILL is fully engorged about.

But to take that approach with Beijing and Pyongyang would require that we have leaders both in the White House and the Congress with some major league STONES.

Sadly, it appears that we do not.

China will play their NK card when they decide it's time to invade Taiwan. They plan on distracting us with a NK invasion of the South while they annex their buddies in Taipei.

PS Has it ever occured to anyone that Red China uses N. Korea as a clearing house for weapons, support for terrorists, etc? Indeed, I just read a FReeper post showing that North Korea exported weapons to Russia of all places! Could it be they were returning these unsold/undistributed weapons to the "warehouse." Just a thought...

Hey won't some neo-con tell us again that our real danger is from people who use car bombs, IEDs and our own planes to take over the world.

I think we're using Japan as our surrogate in the area instead of Taiwan. If you've followed events recently you'll see a much more aggressive Japanese attitude toward China's expansion plans.

I noticed that too...very good development...let's hope Japan sticks to her guns (and adds to them!).

What is up with our leaders!

They are bought & paid for by the elitists. Extend it to all of Congress i.e. the "Two=Party Cartel".

Lol! BTW, Russia and Red China are both helping to build Iran's nuclear program. But given the tone of your last post, you probably already know that :o)

And Pooty Poot has also been a really generous sugar daddy for the DPRK as well. We should have wiped out the DPRK as well as a goodly portion of the PLA back in '53. We had the means but lacked the will.
