Arabs aren't a monolith either...
From what I understand, a Gulf Arab looks nothing like a Lebanese Arab, or a Syrian.
I agree beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but to me it's like a Honduran saying Guatemalans are ugly...when they look quite similar to each other.
The folks who are lebanese don't look arab in any sense.
Ralph Nader is the son of lebanese immigrants.
Several former senators were of arabic decent (though none of them were muslim).
That said, from what I have seen (not to mention also been told by folks who go to Israel), the "palestinians" and the jews over there can tell who is a jew and who is a palestinian generally.
A light skinned person who goes into the occupied terrotories, is generally assumed to be a jew or european.
I think a better analogy then Hondurans and Guatemalans might be Polish (slavic) and French (or anglican).
