Her last chance: Joan Kennedy cuts an 11th-hour deal with her kids

Joan Kennedy's alcoholism has spiraled so out of control that she has consumed ``massive amounts'' of mouthwash, prompting a judge to halt her from selling her Cape Cod estate and to put her under strict court supervision, the Herald has learned.
Under an 11th-hour deal struck in Barnstable Probate & Family Court on Friday, Kennedy's $6 million Hyannisport home has been taken off the market. In addition, the court dissolved a trust established by her second cousin, Webster E. Janssen, who had put the house up for sale without the knowledge of her three children.
The house, along with Kennedy's Back Bay condo, is now controlled by two court-appointed trustees instead of by Janssen, according to two sources with knowledge of the settlement.
A source close to the Kennedy clan said yesterday that Joan's children have filed a complaint against Janssen with the federal Securities & Exchange Commission alleging ethics violations in his handling of Joan Kennedy's finances.
Under the settlement, Joan Kennedy will be required to follow strict rules and enter alcohol rehab. Kennedy, who is the ex-wife of U.S. Sen. Edward M. Kennedy (D-Mass.), will also be required to check in regularly with the courts.

Another Kennedy scam. The took care of Rosemary with a lobotomy. Now they are destroying Joan Kennedy because she is an embarrassment to the family.
What a bunch of pukes. Teddy is the town drunk. Makes Joan look like a Puritan.

On another board I read that Teddy is charging his relatives rent to stay in JFK's former abode in the compound.

This is very tragic for all of those involved, regardless of their political affiliations. I lost a very bright personable wonderful friend to alcoholism. It isn't funny, and shouldn't be mocked and sure It isn't pretty in any way shape or fashion.

In
Senatorial Privledge, Kennedy's cousin--a lawyer named Garner, or something like that--was appalled at how teddy wanted to blame his murder of MaryJo on anyone but himself. He told teddy something of the effect, "even kennedys don't crap in their own back yard."
...but they do.

I read Joan's autobio many years ago. The part that lept out at me was where, while they were separated (or divorced, I can't remember which) Ted decided to run for some office.
He called Joan for help and she came eagerly, working hard on the campaign, playing the supportive wife. She seemed to be of the impression that he wanted her again, talking of getting back together, etc.
The day the campaign ended, he disappeared with his entourage and she didn't even know he had left. It tore her up. She thought he wanted her back. But he just wanted the public to see happy man and wife as long as the campaign was on.
Now making no excuses for an alcoholic woman, and knowing there are two sides always, it still seems that he used her pretty badly.

Is really possible for a court to dissolve a Trust without the approval of the Trustee? I thought Trust were usually iron clad.

"The took care of Rosemary with a lobotomy."
Are you SERIOUS?
If yes, how and when did this happen?
I never heard about that.

None of us really knows the facts to pontificate on this one. We should stop. The Kennedy's don't know the facts about anything like gun control, military strategy, economic impact of taxes, fidelity of marriage, personal responsibility.... but that doesn't keep them from pontificating on those subjects.... screw 'em.
Bunch of parasitic inbred leeches. Like the moron who was elected from Rhode Island or RFK junior's scam energy corporation.... malignant, criminal, retards......
"Teddy" is the head Jabba the Hut of the clan.... "just perfect".

Now they are destroying Joan Kennedy because she is an embarrassment to the family. She may be an embarrassment to the Kennedy family ... but next to Teddy, and a few others in the Kennedy clan, she's a minor leaguer.

True.
But it is ironic that the family fortune was originally created running bootleg liquor during prohibition.
