On photoblogs, there are no mundane shots

Blogs are great for those who like to write and wonderful for those who like to read, but what about people who don't like to do either?
They are expressing themselves through photoblogs, Web sites that are part visual diary, part photo gallery, where in recent years anyone with a digital camera and Internet connection can take part. Many sites have made it easier than ever to share photographs, including Fotolog.net and Flickr.com, which was recently bought by Yahoo.
Among the most interesting photoblogs to peruse are group oriented, where many people post pictures, all of them around a central theme. You will find abandoned bicycles, subway scenes, pets. Group sites celebrate the ordinary, the mundane, the ephemeral, things that everyone can understand.

The downside to photoblogs is that many are the online version of the slide show. A small number of people enjoy them, but most really couldn't care less. The nice thing is that, unlike a slide show, you can ignore it without offending someone.

I happened across an interesting blog a few months ago. It was authored by a pretty Asian woman who posted a few pictures of herself, her home, her office and her cat. She wrote some enchantingly funny comments. I was so impressed that I even posted a comment for her blog. But, for the life of me, I can't recall her blog domain. What was her name? Amiee? Sad now, really.

Reminds me, for some reason, of "The Big Book of Squee."

That is a Cooool site! Loved your images. But enjoyed your comments about Bush v Kerry at Yale most of all. Yale is a very tough college. GWB's 69 in Astronomy is no big deal given the average science and math scores of Yalies. But Kerry's four "D's" as a frosh is a riot. Then he had the gall to posture and claim he was superior. Lying *ickhead. Grrrrr.

I like how the Hurk-person setup those mp3's at the bottom of the screen--it appears to be Flash.. Is it legal to stream complete tracks like that..?
