I agree with you 100%. I wonder if he didn't dare go to the police because he did use a date rape drug on her. He didn't look like much of a scuffle took place but then again we saw him 2 weeks after the event.

It is even possible for the police to solve this case considering their initial negligence?

Sadly, it seems the investigation continues to be negligent. Y'all could probably add considerably to this list, but I post it to point out the obvious:

1. Natalee Holloway disappears.
2. The last three to be seen with her are questioned and released.
3. Two security guards are implicated and held in her disappearance.
4. They seem to have airtight alibis and relatives incredibly passionate about their innocence.
5. The three young men are picked up again and held.
6. A high ranking Aruban official states body has been found while another states there was human blood in the Honda.
7. Another official rebuts previous statement and oh, that was just saliva.
8. The two security guards are released.
9. Panties, condoms, and duct tape are discovered in the local lover's lane and bandied about for the media by boy who found them.
10. Swamp is drained.
11. The home of one of the three young men is finally searched and his parents' cars seized.
12. Aruban officials state the three have been under constant electronic surveillance since their initail release.
13. Natalee Holloway is still missing.
