Really offensive editorial from the Glob about Kerry:
he's vindicated and shouldn't be hated for trying to end the Vietnam war while George Bush 'supported it at Yale, but after graduation he chose reserve duty that kept him out of combat.'
I have realized that the only reason Kerry delayed authorizing the release of these records is that he was negotiating with the Defense Department demanding that they sanitize his record before release. That appears to be the only plausible explanation for the delay.
"O'Neill was incensed by Kerry's memorable testimony before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee in 1971, in which the young veteran, clad in a combat shirt, criticized the war."
Aren't we all incensed? I know I am!
The Air National Guard flew over 30,000 combat sorties over Viet Nam.
Kerry chose Swift Boats because he thought they would be away from the action. When the Swiftboats were re-tasked for litoral comabt support, Kerry started faking his Purple Hearts to get back stateside.
Thanks for the ping!
