"There are more coming over the borders than there are jobs to fill."
---
Thanks, Mayor Autry!
Not every one of them is here with good intent or the best interest of this country or their own families in mond, imo.
He did a good job. I'm glad he mentioned what we have all known for years. Illegal immigrants have had a huge negative financial impact on our schools, hospitals, and jails. It's got to stop.
mind=mond
It is definitely not a one for one benifit thing when it comes to illegals, especially when so much money leaves our country headed elsewhere.
Where is the benefit in that for the United States?
They should cut back on the foreign handouts and use the money to protect our borders. We are losing our nation.
Fresno is not a yuppie town but we are being over-run.
:)
Put up a border, I will apply for a passport...LOL
That will just ramp up the demand for illegal workers.
LOL!
I used to drive a delivery truck in SF, Marin and Sonoma counties. I made a small sign for the back of the truck that read "Follow Me to Bolinas!"
One of my Great Un-Played Practical Jokes was going to be passing out leaflets in the Union Square and Hotel Areas in SF advertising "Bolinas Hospitality Days," describing it a festival with rides, games, etc., and giving a detailed map on how to get there.
For what it is worth:
Birth name
Carlos Alan Autry
He was raised in Riverdale, California, in the San Joaquin Valley. He was a star player at the University of the Pacific in Stockton, CA before being drafted by the Green Bay Packers.
Played professional football for the B.C. Lions in the Canadian Football League in 1978 under the name Carlos Brown.
He played NFL Football for the Green Bay Packers as a second string quarterback in the 1975 and 1976 seasons.
He has appeared in a slew of movies and TV episodes.
His daughter Lauren can be seen In The Heat of the Night TV episode "Every Man's Family" she is the little girl in the park who comes up to Alan and says "Hey mister can we have our frisbee back?"
Was elected mayor of Fresno, Ca. on 7 November 2000. He will be sworn into office in January 2001, for a four year term.
On October 29, 2003 he announced that he will not seek a second term as the Mayor of Fresno. His term expires in January, 2005. He said he wants to spend more time with his wife and children and is interested in continuing his acting career. Because of his popularity with Fresno voters, political analysts in Fresno believe he could have easily won re-election.
On March 2, 2004 he easily won re-election as Mayor of Fresno with over 72 percent of the vote. At first he did not want to seek a second term. He changed his mind after the candidate he endorsed as his replacement dropped out of the race. His second term will run from January, 2005 until January, 2009.
Thank you. That was a nice biographical. I am familiar with Riverdale. Been there a couple of times.

Show 'em how it gets done right!

Borders, Culture, Language - what is so difficult to understand?!
Fresno is my hometown and wewereshocked a fewyears ago when we were visiting and stayed a while to do some repairs on my mom's house. My hubby was the only one in the Home Depot speaking English!
We live about 15 miles south of Fresno in a farming area. My guess is that 80% of the small country school students are hispanic.
As I stated and Mayor Autry knows, we are being over-run. It is past time to secure the borders and stop the illegal immigration. I think the law of citizenship should be changed. Only children born here of legal residents should be citizens.
</rant>
I move to amend by replacing "2-year" with "25-year"
Has this poor guy already been called a racist and anti-immigrant for daring to suggest something so sensible?
Autry for Governor.
