New York,NY (AHN)-Yahoo/Launch Radio Networks is reporting that Velvet Revolver vocalist Scott Weiland made the German headquarters of Sony/BMG (the band's label), angry after label executives learned that Weiland had recently been wearing a Nazi SS hat onstage.
According to New York Magazine Online, a letter from the German office of Sony/BMG to the U.S. office read in part, "We absolutely don't want to interfere in how our artists dress (but) any kind of wearing/ presenting Nazi symbols in public is strictly forbidden by law in Germany and can lead to getting arrested"
Scott Weiland responded to the statement,"In no way shape or form am I a Nazi. The Nazi SS hat that I wear in fact symbolizes the loss of democracy and the shift to totalitarianism...one could make an argument that indeed the government of the U.S. is evolving into, or is already, a fascist police state, hiding under the guise of a republic."
Weiland has been arrested numerous times on drug charges, domestic battery,DUI,and has been in and out of rehab for heroin addiction at least three times.
Velvet Revolver is scheduled to perform at the Live 8 concert in London's Hyde Park on July 2 along with Mariah Carey,Coldplay,The Cure, Sting, Muse, Madonna,Elton John, and a dozen other artists for that venue alone.
IT'S BUSH'S FAULT!!
Whenever I want to become more informed on the state of our nation, I turn to Velvet Revolver.
What a nimrod!
These dinks have NO idea what fascism looks like...
Why's that Scotty? Is it because we arrest stupid has-been junkie losers when they score heroin?
He was better when he was with Stone Temple Pilots, but now instead of being a creepy junkie, he's a washed up creepy junkie.

Uh.....Hitler was a pro abortion, pro euthanasia, pro animal rights, pro environment, gun grabbing socialist.
Buncha jackboots keeping him down.
Back on the junk, eh, Scott?
SHHH...don't tell him that.
He's half the man he used to be.
Mussolini said "For Fascism, the State is an absolute, before which individuals or groups are only relative...." - sounds more like Hillary Clinton than George W. Bush to me.
So, Al Jourgensen wore a Kaiser helmet onstage with Ministry. He also had a bottle of Jack in his hand. OH NO!!!
They're just singers, people.
Has-been rock star uses shock tactics to gain publicity.
*yawn*
Although it IS fun to watch people's reactions to the Nazi paraphanalia. Europeans tend to have a fit over that stuff.
Don't you wish every rock band was like Rush? They shut up and play!
Is that poster for real? Looks more like a Mayday poster than something one would expect to see in the USA.
Yet another band I can't listen to anymore! And I liked STP and Velvet Revolver ... DAMN! ... am I going to have to sell all my CDs and records except Ted Nugent? It's beginning to look that way :-( (sorry guys, I can't stand country music !!)
Oh I don't think it is the hat that will cause this story to grow legs...it's Scott's words that will do it.
