Government agents do, but not governments. If a state has 100 employees and pay them $1 billion, under the sales tax they will now have to come up with $1.3 billion to keep the same number of employees? Where does that extra money come from? Maybe it is a tricky way to try to get governments to cut, I would be all for that. But the reality is it will just lead to governments have to tax more to keep the same level of so-called services.
You neglect to consider the cost of government being reduced by sending the tax agents packing - and the increased efficiency in the business world because of vastly lower tax compliance costs. You consider the costs but not the benefits of a NRST, which is dishonest.
The employees have to pay income and payroll tax right back to the government. Why pay them amounts that will simply be taken right back in income and payroll taxes? There are several reasons.
Show me where in the Fair Tax bill that employers have to pay the sales tax on employees salaries.
If you can not, admit you are lying.
