Oh please ... put the gubermint in the loop of each and every transaction getting their share of the loot and expect it to remain pristine? Don't expect a future Congress to decide that adding a 5% ubertax for fattening foods in order to "protect the children" won't happen? But the law will prevent that you say? Sure, just like the Commerce Clause limits the reach of the Federal government. Once you give the Federal government the style of taxing that is the "fair tax," the tweaking and outright hijacking of the system to institute social engineering will be irresistible. Don't think so? What do you think those 42,000 some odd pages of tax code are all about? Do you honestly think that Congress won't co-opt the new code to do the same thing? Talk about a camel's nose! IMHO, the "fair tax" is the camel backing into the tent. Sorry, you all have much more faith in Congress and SCOTUS than do I.
