"The Yasukuni cloud Last November, Chinese President Hu Jintao advised Koizumi in blunt terms not to visit the Yasukuni Shrine in 2005. "

The Chinese are political amateurs apparently. If they want to start a war with Japan there are better less idiotic methods to go about it. Telling the leader of a sovereign nation what he may and may not do in his own country is a sure fire way to make sure that the whole world thinks you are a prissy horses ass. I can't imagine anyone taking China's side on this.

They have been aggressive for their anti-Japan policy so it will unify their country with Nationalism. Socialists and Communists need an enemy to survive. You can see this with Venezuela. The difference with the two are that Venezuela is centralized in anti-America while China is centralized in anti-Japan to keep up the nationalism for their unification. There was one official in the Department of State that stated bad relation between China and Japan is not favorable but I imagine this official knows nothing about the region, what is in the background, and that this is beneficial for Japan to counter the pro-China propagandists.
