I'm not particularly big on posuers or RUB's myself. I do however get tired of the ceaseless Harley bashing. It must be some kind of insecurity thing. It doesn't seem like the owners of Jap bikes, and now obviously Italian bikes can be happy with their own rides, without feeling the need to snipe at someone elses ride. It gets really old.

My father-in-law is probably going to pick up a Lowrider (F-something, whatever the Harley Designation is). Nice bike, and I'm green with envy. I sold my Duc to buy a house...now, two houses, two dry-rotted bathrooms, 1 complete remodel, 1 year of intensive yard work, 1 wife, and a 3 month old daughter later, I still don't have a bike. That, just ain't natural.

I wouldn't so much call it insecurity but more of a reaction. The Harley crowd is notorious for being an attitude clique, one good indicator of this is simply who waves at who. Motorcycle folks almost always wave at other bikers, a small majority (in my experience) of Harley folks only wave to other Harley's. Who gives a sh!t? I don't, but the general impression is that they are brand snobs. I'm altruistic and I wave at every Harley I see. There should be commradery outside the cage drivers.

The crotch rockets have their road squirrels, Dirt Bikers..have themselves, and Harley guys have roll playing CPAs.

Funny thing, the only blatantly hostile act I've seen from a Motorcyclist was a Lez on a Beamer threatening some gray haired lady. (Anacortas, May 22nd 1998) Butch girl was pretty tough until she found herself 18" off my pickups bumper.

IMHO, it may not be fair, but to some degree it's understandable. British bikes still get trashed over Lucas electrics, and Harleys are still living down AMF.

I'm just pissed I had to sell my BMW K12RS when I moved to Thailand and now I am stuck with a 125cc Honda step-through. :(
